Where can you find happiness? Can you find it in money, a new car, a new boat or a new house? Having any or all of those possessions may give you pleasure- but it’s only temporary pleasure. Instead, true happiness doesn’t come from the number of material possessions you accumulate. True happiness comes from within yourself.

Leo Tolstoy on War

Every war… with all its ordinary consequences… the murder with the justifications of its necessity and justice, the exaltation and glorification of military exploits, the worship of the flag, the patriotic sentiments… and so on, does more in one year to pervert men’s minds than thousands of robberies, murders, and arsons perpetrated during hundreds of years by individual men under the influence of passion. – The Kingdom of God is Within You, 344
Putting Our Beliefs into Action

The following quote has been attributed to Gandhi, but he’s not the only person who has made such a statement. In fact, Chris Lewis, one of our association’s founding members, has made similar statements. Chris made this statement several times without ever knowing Gandhi also said it: “To believe in something, and not live it, is dishonest.”
To elaborate: If you really believe in something, practice it. Don’t just say you believe in something and not incorporate that belief in your life. Otherwise, it’s just worthless talk.
Questions to Ask Yourself
Posted June 3, 2009 by pathoftruthCategories: Uncategorized
Ask yourself these questions, and be honest about it:
- Do you really believe in God or any higher power?
- Do you really believe there are eternal consequences for your actions?
- Do you really want to be free or do you prefer to be kept in ignorance and bondage?
Let’s face it: if most people really did believe in these ideals, America- and the rest of the world for that fact- would be a much better place. Abortion would never have been legalized. There would be fewer wars. Crime would be vastly reduced. And all forms of sexual immorality as well as the numbers of divorces and single-parent homes would be significantly less.
Now if you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, please take a look at the other contents of this site as you’ll find it rather enlightening.
What is the ‘Consistent Life Ethic’?
Posted June 2, 2009 by pathoftruthCategories: Uncategorized
People who espouse the “consistent life ethic” firmly maintain the view that all human life is sacred. Those who adhere to this ideology are opposed to all forms of killing including abortion, capital punishment, war, assisted suicide, economic injustice and euthanasia. The Path of Truth Association is one of the foremost adherents to the consistent life ethic and we encourage all people to share this stance with us. Together, we can make this world a more peaceful and loving place.
Truth Will Always Come Out on Top

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it–always.”
- Mahatma Gandi
Buddhism’s Stance on Abortion
Posted May 31, 2009 by pathoftruthCategories: Uncategorized
Many people have the mistaken belief that only “fundamentalist” Christians believe that abortion is wrong. That notion could not be any further from the truth. In fact, many diverse religious traditions maintain strong stances against abortion. For example, Buddhism is a major religion that has always maintained a clear stand that abortion is killing. One who chooses an abortion violates the first precept of Buddhism, which is “Do not kill.”
According to Buddhism, the act of abortion is the taking of human life and is no different than any other form of murder. People who commit murder- including that of abortion- reap an abundance of negative karma upon themselves. In some countries, like the United States, abortion is legal, but it should be illegal and treated the same as any other type of homicide.
In today’s time, many people surrender their religious and moral principles for the sake of convenience or to satisfy their selfish desires. However, religious and moral principles should never be surrendered for any reason because they exist for the welfare of the whole mankind.
On Marriage, Divorce and Sex
Posted May 31, 2009 by pathoftruthCategories: Uncategorized
According to the Bible, God created humans. In the book of Genesis we are taught that a man and a woman are to become one flesh after they are united in as husband and wife. The Bible also teaches that a man who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery and has done wrong unto his wife; a wife who divorces her husband and marries another man also commits adultery. The Bible also teaches that fornication and other forms of sexual misconduct (including pre-marital sex and homosexuality) are sins and highly offensive to God.
Without exception, sexual relations are only permitted between a husband and a wife. The idea of so-called ”same-sex marriage” is a made-up modern invention created by homosexuals who are seeking to overturn natural order. It’s also another sign of the continuation of Satan’s rebellion against God and His laws.
Communion of Love
Posted May 31, 2009 by pathoftruthCategories: Uncategorized
“If you love someone, you become one with him, or her and they become one with you, but you do not cease to be yourself. If that happened, it would no longer be love.
So it is a communion of love, an experience of oneness in love, and that is the end and the meaning of life.”
- Bede Griffiths
